AN INVITATION TO A MEETING IN NOTTINGHAM - THIS SATURDAY

Tuesday 2 August 2005

Dear Veritas member or Ex-Veritas member,

Meeting - This Saturday (6th), 1pm to 5pm (longer if necessary), at the Nuthall Church Hall, Back Lane, off Whatnall Road, Nottingham. (The venue is about half a mile from junction 26 on th M1 direction Nottingham).
Doors will be open from 11.00am for those who want to participate in an informal discussion.

I should like to invite you to an emergency meeting to discuss the future of Veritas, this Saturday (6 August) at Nottingham.

The meeting will be open to all Veritas members and anyone who has ever joined Veritas.

There are no hidden agendas here, the sole purpose, is for like minded people to get together, and put forward their ideas as to how best we can move forward after recent events. The cause that we all stand for is far more important than other considerations.

Currently, we are being guided by Patrick Eston, in his position as acting Leader. This is a thankless task for Patrick at present, and we need to discuss how best we can assist him in the time available up to the AGM in September.

I have planned the meeting in two parts. The first part will be a ‘viewpoint exchange’, whereby everyone will have an opportunity, in turn, for anyone to speak for 2 or 3 minutes on what they see as the way forward and to say what help they can give. We’ll then take a break and after that go through an agenda which I’ll hand out at 1pm. If anyone has any specific topics that you feel need to be discussed, please advise me, and I will add them to the agenda. There’ll be no ‘top table’. I will chair the meeting and the chairs will be laid out circular-style.

There is to be a leadership election, and I am advised that both current \r\ncandidates, Colin Brown, and Patrick Eston will attend. Hopefully, more \r\ncandidates will put their names forward in due course.

There will be a nominal charge of about £1.00 per head (depends on final numbers), to cover the costs of the hall, and we will be providing tea, and coffee. Attendees will need to provide their own food.

I apologise for the short notice for this meeting.

Could all those wishing to attend, please urgently contact me either on e-mail, or telephone, as follows :-

e-mail veritasnw@btconnect.com

I look forward to seeing as many as possible of you there.

Kind regards
Alan Ainscow
